Over the past two weeks, the Elite team has produced some amazing performances across the country and outside of the United States. Team records and Personal Bests smashed, world record attempts, and a season debut were among some of the exciting happenings for Atlanta Track Club.

On August 5th, 2022, at the Swedish National Championships, Yolanda Ngarambe ran home a silver medal in the 1500m with a 4:16.52. Ngarambe was selected to run the 1500m at the upcoming European Championships in Germany. In her words, “This is my first ever outdoor Euros and I’m so excited because my parents will be in the stands. They have never traveled to see me run at a major championship before.”

On August 6, 2020, Allie Wilson competed in her first race ever on international soil at the Silesia Diamond League in Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, Stadion Śląski, Chorzów. In a loaded field, Wilson finished 5th in 1:59.35. This finish gave Wilson her 4th sub-2minute 800m of the outdoor season.

The newest member of Atlanta Track Club Elite Jonathan Davis made his debut in the 3 stripes at the Sir Walter Mile in North Carolina. Getting out with the front pack from the gun and tucking right in behind the pacer for the first 2 laps, Davis finished 13th running 4:00.62. Across the coast on Sunday August 7, 2022, Shane Streich raced at The Brooklyn Mile in New York. Streich ran a 4:01 for a road mile PB. Both men will be ending their season on a high note with a few weeks of rest before gearing up for fall training.

On August 10, 2022, in her Diamond League debut, Olivia Baker ran 1:58.05 in the women's 800m for a 3rd place finish at the Monaco Diamond League in Herculis EBS, Stade Louis II, Monaco. “All I can say is that I am blessed and grateful for the experience,” Baker said after posting the 10th fastest 800m in the world this year. Baker's 3rd place finish in Monaco was her 7th sub 2-minute 800m this outdoor season and her 5th consecutive 800m race of 1:59.5 or faster.

At the same meet, Wilson paced a world record 1500m attempt for the reigning world champion and back-to-back Olympic Champion Faith Kipyegon. Wilson took the group through 800m (2:01.6) which ended up being a bare miss of 0.3 sec. “It’s just as special to try to help someone else run fast…This sport really is so much more than running, and that’s my favorite part about it!” Wilson said.  All of the ladies in the field ran bravely; Faith Kipyegon barely missed the World record but came away with a PB and the second fastest time ever at the distance.
